Not only "when" but "how?" The Bible doesn't spell it out in clear, literal language. The best data it gives are signs and symbols. Jesus told his followers to keep awake so that when it happened they'd be ready for it. He didn't tell them to continually try and figure out the future in advance. When? How? It doesn't matter of one is being a good Christian; he'll be ready and Jesus will find him awake and waiting.

Most of the dudes at the helm have found themselves inexplicably promoted to WAY beyond their abilities and are just hanging on to the wheel, hoping not to fall off the ship. Fortunately for the GB, they have an entire fleet of lawyers telling them how to run the organization; it's just the goofy doctrinal stuff that the GB has to keep track of.

Mad Sweeney raises his hand and is called on, and says, "I'm going to say what dozens of you here are probably thinking. Why do they appear so similar?

many times i've been accused of using watchtower material in my presentations, when all i really own is a few bible translations and my concordance, which i rely on quite heavily, at times.
as for owning any watchtower material that i copy from, i have none of that, in my room at all that i use!

Almost every aspect of the composite sign is less today than it was 50 or 60 years ago.
Fewer and less deadly wars.
Fewer infectious diseases.
Lower percentage of people starving.
Earthquakes at the exact same frequency as they've always been.
The good news about Christ and his kingdom is being preached to an increasingly smaller percentage of the world's people. Nearly half the world's people live in China and India and it's growing. Add in the Muslim world and you're looking at way over half the world's population who have barely heard of Christ, let alone Jehovah.
And Christians aren't objects of hatred in "all nations" yet, either.
So "the sign" is not happening at present. It simply isn't. It will be unmistakable when it comes and it isn't going to drag on for 96 YEARS.

Watchtowers use of qualifying words

"apparently", "logically", "evidently" and others.
here are some examples of scripture if the society had written them.. genesis 1:1- in the beginning god apparently created the heavens and the earth.. mark 15:34 - and at the ninth hour jesus cried out in a loud voice, "eloi, eloi, lama sabachthani?

John 3:16: Very likely, God loved the world so much that he seems to have given his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have apparently everlasting life.
Matthew 24:14: And evidently this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the apparently inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations and then the end will likely come.

all people ever do ...even the ones that are in codependant relationships that are violent and upsetting say 'you must love yourself first' ...i've been told that all my life...'love yourself first love yourself first'.
that's like telling someone that doesn't know japanese......'you gotta learn japanese first!

Who really supports "the work"?
by palmtree67 ini've been thinking alot about all the threads here regarding the bethel lay-offs.
i'd imagine that those laid off will have to rely on their families or social safety nets to help them out.. my man is a successful fader, but his family are all super-jw's.
parents pioneering in a foreign land, youngest pioneering where the need is great, oldest sibling is on the fast track to being a co. my man went to university and is in the upper-wage earning tax bracket.

i got some information, that a couple of countries allow to sell the literature to people who are interested, without paying taxes.. thank s in advanced,.
